I’ve been preaching about the rising of the music scene in Vermilion County for over a year now. I’ve met some pretty incredible musicians, poets, artists….my people. But one of the other fun things about being a part of this scene is running into old friends.
Something I talk about often on my radio show and here on the blog is the never ending pool of talent that is harvested right here in Vermilion County. It is ALMOST to the point that you can go somewhere every single night of the week and hear live music…and I expect it will be that way in the not-so-distant future. The summer of 2015 was a summer of change…not only in my life, but in my city. The sound of community, hope, and promising opportunity rang throughout Downtown Danville through events like Summer Sounds and Culture Shock. Home base (for myself, many of the bands, volunteers, and patrons who attend events like these) is a little place tucked into the alley – Fatman’s Warehouse.
