I’ve been preaching about the rising of the music scene in Vermilion County for over a year now. I’ve met some pretty incredible musicians, poets, artists….my people. But one of the other fun things about being a part of this scene is running into old friends.
One of my favorite parts of Danville is the downtown area. It is actually the specific place that changed my entire attitude about Danville and made me open my eyes to what is really happening here. It was last summer when I really saw the change. The Summer Sounds concerts began to grow bigger and better…Culture Shock brought in a whole new world right in our back yard…new businesses began to pop up that were working hard to make a difference in the downtown area.
As I sat down to plan out this series, I knew I had to designate a day to let everyone else see what I saw and continue to see about our amazing Downtown Danville. I believe this is the epicenter of change for our community.Continue Reading
Hey, friends. I apologize that I have been MIA for the last month. Life took off and I have been dealing with the always evolving transition of change. So I thought I’d give you all a little update on what I’ve been doing.
The experience of walking into the SCP Recording Studio once again made me proud to live in Danville. The fact that there is so much support and opportunity to our local musicians never ceases to amaze me. I found Jordan Cundiff, along with Christian Cunningham and Stephen Emerson jamming out to the new Panic! At the Disco in the control room.
