Windows are open, the trees and flowers are in full bloom, and the sounds of those early morning lawn mowers are filling our neighborhoods…it must be spring. I hope this post finds my readers all nice and twitterpated this season. I apologize for not posting anything in awhile…life has been very busy and I have been trying to decide on some changes that will be happening around POMC this year.Continue Reading
There’s No Business Like Show Business
Audition season is OFFICIALLY here, and I feel like I have had a TON of questions about how to get involved in the theatre world and what auditions are really like here in Vermilion County. It seems that almost every theatre group is gearing up for their winter productions and starting to prepare for their spring shows. So let’s do a little recap of what is going on right now and then find out how you can get involved with it!Continue Reading
Danville – A Creative Community
One of my favorite things about Vermilion County is that there is talent EVERYWHERE. There are so many opportunities for artists of many kinds to release their talents out into our community. From theatre to poetry to painting to performing, surely there is a creative outlet here for you…and if there’s not, there are a LOT of people who will support you in starting one.Continue Reading
DACC Players – Ragtime!
“There was no music
In my heart tonight.
Melodies kept refusin’ to flow.
One look at you,

Comin’ out all sweet and slow.” ~Ragtime
Opening this weekend at the Bremer Theater at Danville Area Community College is the musical classic – Ragtime! Continue Reading
Red Mask – Deathtrap
“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” ~Oscar Wilde
Something you should check out this weekend or next is Red Mask’s Deathtrap at the Kathryn Randolph Theatre opening tomorrow night (April 1, 2016). Director Drake Taylor explains the show:Continue Reading
DLO – Spelling Bee
Actress, Lauren Smith (who I adore), says that “this has been one of those shows that the cast really has to work and click together to make it work – and that is definitely the case for our production.”
Danville Light Opera’s winter show, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, is playing this weekend and next weekend. According to director, Jenny Taylor, “Spelling Bee is about several middle school spellers not only spelling for the prize but finding some truths about themselves in the process, finding new friends, and new confidence in their ability to be themselves. Party Princess – Bailey Williams
Once upon a time…there lived a beautiful Princess who sought to make the girls and boys of Danville, Illinois and surrounding areas’ dreams come true…
If you have been at any children’s birthday parties, or visited the Downtown Danville’s Farmer’s Market in the last year and a half, then you have most certainly ran into Danville’s own Party Princess, Bailey Williams. At just seventeen years old, Bailey started a business that reached over 500 Facebook likes within weeks. Suddenly, the teenager was booming in her own success. Bailey offers little girls (and boys) the chance to meet “real” Princesses and Princes from their favorite fairy tales.
